    I bought a few of these guys (5) but so far havn't noticed them helping out in the nitrate dept. yet. When I bought mine, I was told they preferred a sand bed. I don't know if I just don't have enough to make a difference or not on my nitrate level.

    chemical warfare?

    I got a couple xenia frags....placed them in the tank and a coral I had it near started dying off. I moved the xenia to another spot, so I'm hoping the coral will perk up. It will be interstesting to see what everyone says about them having chemical warfare with neighbors.

    It doesn't look like algae....looks like a coral to me....can't wait till someone ID's it. I'm curious. Is it something you can remove and move to a different location?

    Petland also carries some stuff, but not much. Petco also has a few things, but they usually have red slime algae, and they don't chemically treat it. Locally, the best place is aqua tropics, but like I said, you have to get there soon after it arrives...otherwise it's gone. He carries fish...

    If you go to aqua tropics you have to get there the day they get their shippments in, otherwise it's all gone quickly. Live shipments arrive Tues. around 11am-noon. Dry goods arrive on Thursdays. If you're looking for something specific, ask him, he can usually find it.
