My 90 Fish and softy tank

That is one happy looking maroon clown! Glad to see that he quickly took to his new home. You may think I'm crazy to say this, but for me one of the most eyecatching features of your tank is your clam. Before getting into this hobby I just thought that clams were these ugly white-shelled...

    BReefed's 90 gallon set up

Sold my 72 gallon fresh water tank today and my 6 T-5 TEK light. Tomorrow I pick up my new 90 gallon saltwater aquarium and plop it down right where the old 72 gallon bowfront was. Whoo! Been waiting for this for a while. I'm strongly hoping that this big established tank will be kind to a...

    BReefed's 14g Biocube

Firefish is starting to look a lot better and seems to be getting braver lately. His tail is healing, very slowly, but it is healing. I've noted almost no aggression from the clownfish toward him lately, which is nice for a change. In the mean time, my porcelain crab seems to be loving his new...

    Herefishyfishy's 180g, one more time

Thanks for having me by, your new 180 has to be the most impressive tank I've seen in person. Better be careful or the Seattle Aquarium might come by and try and steal it! I know you were saying usually you don't add so many fish, but that was literally a moving wall of color. Your wife ever...

    Herefishyfishy's 180g, one more time

Seriously, that has to be one of the most unique and impressive aquarium stands I have ever seen. I can't wait to see what that grows into. Love the softy tank that you are selling as well. I was really tempted to meet your offer on that even though I told myself no more bowfronts due to the...

    BReefed's 14g Biocube

By all means, question away. I'm not new to keeping fish as I've kept planted freshwater tanks for years, but I am new at reef setups. I appreciate any help I can get. To illustrate that fact... I was err... planning to dose my display with melafix if things didn't clear up after a couple more...

    Hello everyone!

Silly question, but can I not edit old posts that I've made?

    Green Star Polyps not attaching

Yeah, I eventually did. Crazy glue gel combined with instant ocean holdfast worked like a dream. I rolled the instant ocean first, put a bubble of glue on top on it, then pressed the frag down onto the glue. Wetness of the frag made it quick dry. Haven't had it fall off this time!

    BReefed's 14g Biocube

3-4-11: Power outage... again. Seems to happen much more often now that I own a reef tank. Why is that? It was kind of fun to use a flashlight and see what wandered out of the back of my tank however. With no flow, and no light for my clownfish to prey on them, the unusual shrimp which live in...

    Green Star Polyps not attaching

That sounds awesome with it growing on the back wall! So I do have to cut it then to get it to lay flat. That sounds like the consensus anyway. That's scary, but the more I hear about this stuff, the more unkillable it sounds. I was going to ask about supergluing anyway, because I've read a...

    BReefed's 14g Biocube

I hear you. I actually inherited this clown for free because its original owner had another, larger clown that was beating on it a bit. I'd love to pair it to another clown, but I have concerns about avoiding a similar situation. My assumption is that mine is female. The other clown its...

    BReefed's 14g Biocube

Absolutely! I have the feeling that I'll end up regretting not springing for the 29 at some point in time, but I didn't have a whole lot of faith in getting everything right on my first go. Plus I knew that when I did have a handle on it, I would end up being interested in something a little...

    Green Star Polyps not attaching

I'm hoping someone will have some experience with this. The mat on my green star polyps that I purchased had formed into a circle with a hollow center, almost like a stick of licorice. There are polyps on all sides of the formation. My question is how many days should it take for one to...

    BReefed's 14g Biocube

Yeah, I'll probably either get her another small ocellaris or a citron goby to hang out with next month. Haven't really decided yet. Also considering a possum wrasse, that'd work out well with my tank I think, but I need to research them more. Also looking to add 2-3 micro porcelain crabs, and...

    Hello everyone!

A good mantra to live by so far. I've already quickly found out that the unexpected and unaccounted for can blindside you in a hurry. A smattering of dinoflagellates have already tried to take a foothold in my tank necessitating a day long black out. Haven't quite kicked them yet, but I'm...

    Is this a good deal?

Received a similar set up off of craigslist with a 6 t5 ballast and stand for $250. Deal even included a beastly fluval canister filter rated for a much larger tank. Mine didn't include live rock though, and that isn't cheap if you like his/her rock.

    Hello everyone!

Happy to be here! I've owned planted freshwater tanks for quite some time, but recently decided to make the push into a saltwater reef. So far I'm absolutely loving it. I currently am using a 14g biocube which I have had up and running for about a month, and I've been desperately inquiring...
