    Power Outage

Are you without power right now? If so, why is the power out? Rob

Thanks Ken! I'm really trying to keep everything as clean and organized as I can. I'm a little anal that way... I will use that plan to break the siphon as high as I can. The sump is tall enough to handle quite a bit though, so I'm not TOO worried. Thanks! Rob

Thanks Elmo! Let me guess... you love clownfish, right? I have a beautiful pair of percs...well, at least I think they are percs. I've never understood fully how to tell sometimes. Maybe they are ocellaris, but they are the coolest! Rob

No worries krish! I think I know what's going on, I just have trouble describing it sometimes. I'll post some more pics soon of my progress. For now, here's a link to my construction page at SoCal... http://www.socalcreations.com/36x16x15_rob_system.htm

    reef 'n ale's 37.5g custom

Hey Tom! Thanks for the offer! Steve at SoCal is making the "gate" for me. It should work, but if it doesn't I may need some help. The way mine is working, if I turn off the power the tank will siphon to the level of the two returns(wherever the Loc-Line is set). To minimize this, I'm going to...

Ah...now I see what you mean! Well, like I said, this is my first attempt at building a tank like this... The Mag 9.5 is sized perfectly to the small sump, so I can't go for any more flow there. So, at full pace, the display water level is just a little lower than I would like. To fix this...

    reef 'n ale's 37.5g custom

Thanks krish! :) This whole thing has been a learning experience for me, and having lots of fun doing it! I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "controling the flow", but the external overflow was designed to handle the Mag Drive 9.5 I'm using for the sump return. Is that what you meant...

Here's the stand, also built by SoCal Creations. It's oak with black stain and a poly finish. I thought it would look cool to see the wood grain through the black! :) Rob

Hi all! I'm new here and wanted to catch you up on what I've been up to for the last couple of months. Let's start with the tank. Here it is right after construction at SoCal Creations. Rob

    My New Lighting System

Ahh... Nick is going to save some money...for now! The AquaMedic is the one I wanted. Long story short, I paid for one in July, and here we are in October, and AquaMedic can't come through with the fixture! So, I saw the Maristar, and actually liked it better. Rob

    My New Lighting System

Thanks for the welcome and info Chuck! :) The height problem sounds like a couple of star washers can take care of that! I got the run-around from AquaMedic trying to get the 36" Oceanlight, so I'm going to go ahead and get the Maristar! Wish me luck! :D Rob

    My New Lighting System

Thanks for the nice welcome guys! I just read that RC thread, and it seems to me that the problems described kind of apply to most any fixtures out there. Nothing major mentioned, IMO. Thanks for pointing it out! Let's see how Chuck is making out... Rob

    My New Lighting System

Hi MDM! My first post here at RF... I'm about to order the 36" SLS Maristar 2x150 fixture tomorrow and was wondering how you like it so far?! It looks like it's been running about 1 month now, right? Thanks! Rob
