    I was mixing some salt and accidentally left my maxijet1200 in a 5gal bucket overnight w/ no heater or anything else and found the water temperature at 85 degrees in the bucket. I've been told that maxijet give off a little heat. would this be normal? josh

    hm... t5s sound alright, but i agree with moortim, i would rather stick with halides. thanks for the suggestion liveforphysics, i dont think i can really see the advantage of t5s over halides. i bet sps would do fine under t5s, but i would rather spend the extra cash for some halides. josh

    hm... i dont think i can get enoguht wattage with only 12" of room probably 10 max bulbs w/ a retro. i believe the pictures on the link you gave me are lit w/ 2x400w halides +t5s, but thanks for the suggestion.

    It's pretty noob of a question :D and remember reading about it during my early research, but forgot the arguements and reasons for the answers: (When your tank is 100% ready for livestock after the cycling of course) What do you guys reccomend to add first, coral or fish.

    its it a good idea to grow hair algea in a refugium? becuase i got this huge clump of hair algea (kinda looks like maiden's hair) that grew from one of my live rocks. will it spread if i was to use it in a refugium on another tank? josh
