Is it ok to have a foxface in a 90?

I have a fox face(about 5" long), passer angel (4") and regal tang (3") living in perfect harmony in my 54 corner. I know that a fox face will change color when threatened but mine stays yellow and white 95% of the time. I'm not trying to stir the pot I'm just saying that it is possible. Jerry

    Sock or not to sock........

No it's an existing sump and it's funny scooter said baffles. I was disappointed in my mega flow as a refergium so I made a baffle to raise the water level in the algea portion. It works perfectly except I still have the bubbles. So now I'm gonna fab some baffels that will drop into the bio ball...

    Blue hermit crabs.

I have found blue leg hermit crabs to be very aggressive and will kill snails and other hermit species. I switched to scarlet hermit crabs and have been able to keep snails again. Also keep some empty shells in the tank so as they grow they also leave other hermits or snails alone. The drawback...

    Sick Clown!!!help Plz!!!

Thanks Steve and Brett, I thought it was something else. I learned about 27 years ago that a flea bomb will kill a fish quicker than anything I know. Thats why I still hate dogs and cats LOL. Jerry

    Sock or not to sock........

Wow some really good opinions. I think i will use them while cleaning. The reason I asked about them was because of bubbles more than anything. The bubbles caused from my overflows emptying into my sump are getting returned back into the tank. Any solutions for that? Jerry

    Thanks all

I just want to say that this site is a awesome learning place. I am honored to be a memeber and it is amazing that in this day and age of selfishness and treachery that people give here willingingly and without prejudice. I do a huge amount of reading here. I read everything and it's a lot to...

    Cycling question

Thanks everyone. This is the biggest tank I've ever had and it has made me very nervous. I started with a 10 gallon and had great success and then went to a 54 corner. I got a little impatient with that but all in all my greatest learning tool to date. I'm seeing that the bigger the tank, the...

    Cycling question

I did put some astria snails(A week ago) in but they went lathargic(SP?)the next day so I pulled them out. I tested for PH, Ammonia, Nitrates, and Phosphates this morning and everything looked good. I grabbed one of the snails and put him/her/it back in and it was now moving around so I left it...

    Cycling question

Yes I use RO/DI water. I put it in just for my tanks. The lights were off while cycling but I turned them back on yesterday hence why the algea probably bloomed. I left them off today except in the sump. A far as test kits I use Salifert (Now) and I have about everyone they make. I did check the...

    Cycling question

As we all know I am in the early stages of setting up my 175. It finally cycled a few days ago. Ammonia was at zero and nitrares were at about 2 ppm. So I did a big (about 150 gallons of it) water change the next night. I have my lights on timers (72" Outer Orbit) and when I got home the next...

My new room for my 175

Actually Adam bigger isn't always easier especially changing water LOL. I had a nice 10 gal set up like you and my tank sitter destroyed that while i was on vacation. I lost over $600 worth fish and coral. Jerry

    Sumps

Where is a good place to get one besides building one for my 175. I have a Mega Flow Type 4 and it sucks for setting up a refergium. The spot where the long foam filter (which I removed and replaced with a grate style strainer) is so short it sucks my calerpa into it from the water flow. Also...

My new room for my 175

Up-Date: Ok Nitrates finally bottomed out so 2 nights a go I mixed up 150 gallons of water and changed it out last night. Water is now crystal clear all tests look flawless. Before that my skimmer was skimming this putrid yellow looking stuff and as of this morning hardly anything in the cup...
