    Finally got a camera...

I dont think you'll have that oily film, at all. I have no problems with mine. Thanks for the link...I'm always building things and modifying things on my tanks, using acrylic. Very cool site...and cheap too.

    Finally got a camera...

That's stupid the way the installed your overflows. Especially since they put them 9" inside the back wall. I'd tear out the overflow walls and just use standpipes for drains. I'm not sure how your overflow walls are put in though. Do you have an acrylic tank or a glass tank? If it's acrylic...

    Finally got a camera...

I've only had the standpipe running for about 3 weeks. I had the 200 set up with an overflow box at my old place and figured since I was moving, I was getting rid of the box. So, I drilled the tank and let it sit for a few weeks, while I moved. Once I moved in, I set everything up and plumbed...

    Finally got a camera...

Right now, I have 3 JBJ 1800 powerheads going for surface aggitation. Soon, I'll have a closed loop, for surface aggitation. The water's surface isnt oily. The 1.5" PVC standpipe drain that I have, right now, will drain about 2000gph.

    Finally got a camera...

That is correct.... In the first set of pics, if you look at the second pic, you can see the pipe. It's in the right hand, back corner. It's a 1.5" PVC plumbed through the wall into my sump.

    Damned micro bubbles...

I'm not going to replace all the plumbing. Last night, I redid the sump, with the new 60gal. Oceanic and plumbed that to the pump and the pump to the return line on the main tank. I'm going to finish that tonight, and start it up. If it works, I'll leave it like that. If it doesnt work, I'll...

    Damned micro bubbles...

Well, I think by this weekend, I'll have the micro bubble problem worked out. Went to Home Depot today and bought enough pipe and fittings to reduce everything from 1.5" down to 1" and then down to 3/4". I bought 10 foot lengths of 1.5" PVC, 1" PVC, and 3/4" PVC plus ball valves for everything...

    Damned micro bubbles...

The bubbles are coming from the cavitation... Someone else just told me to "T" or "Y" off back into the sump for the recycling effect. I'm going to do that. My only other option would be to drill the 200gal. again, and that's not happening. lol I'm setting up a 240gal. soon and the plumbing...

    Damned micro bubbles...

When I installed plumbing into my 200, I didnt think to add a larger drain and a smaller return line. So, I used 1.5" PVC for both. Right now, I'm running a 1200gph pump, with 2 ft. of head back into the 200 from the sump. The drain, I guess, cant keep up with the return pump...the pump is...

    sick lion

Quarentine tank is a good idea... Also, what are your water levels? Have you tested since he's been sick? Have any of the other fish in your tank been sick or have any died recently?

    Problems...

Sorry for taking so long to reply. I'm in the middle of moving. All the tanks are broken down, and my fish are at my friends fish store.....doing GREAT! All I can think of is this all was caused by ammonia poisoning. The Red Coris Wrasse was on the verge of dying, but ever since I transfered...

    New addition...

I drove to Milwaukee today and picked up a 15" Banded Cat Shark from a lady who didnt have room for it. He is beautiful....long past his color change, he's now grey and black striped. She had him in a 125gal. with a 6" Lunare Wrasse, an 8" Volitan Lion, 2 fat Domino Damsels, a Hawkfish and two...

    Let the drilling begin!!

I used a RotoZip Spiral Saw from Home Depot. It's like a Dremel, only bigger and more powerful. The bit was a RotoZip tile bit...dont remember the model number (something like Q10) but it's the only tile bit made for a RotoZip. The container I placed inside the tank was very snug against the...
