Former Squid
I drove to Milwaukee today and picked up a 15" Banded Cat Shark from a lady who didnt have room for it. He is beautiful....long past his color change, he's now grey and black striped. She had him in a 125gal. with a 6" Lunare Wrasse, an 8" Volitan Lion, 2 fat Domino Damsels, a Hawkfish and two 3' long Ribbon Eels. She knew that he'd outgrow the tank, and she doesnt want to upgrade...I paid $50 for him.
The lady, Jenny, said he's eating silversides and some kind of fish...I'm going to try to get him to take squid and salmon.
We didnt have a net large enough to net him, so I just stuck my hands in her tank and tried to grab him...which didnt go over so well with him. lol I eventually used a large filter pad...covered him with it and picked him up. Then, I took him directly to my friends fish store, where I put him in a 300gal. tub with the rest of my fish and my live rock. They'll all be there for a few more days, till I move into my new house and get the tanks set back up.
My newly hatched Banded Cat will go in the 40gal cube till he's big enough to go into the 200gal. with the 15" Banded Cat. Then, when they're both big enough, they'll go in the 1800gal. pond I'm going to building in my basement.
