Aqueon Circulation Pump - Reviews anyone?

http://www.aqueonproducts.com/produc...tion-pumps.htm HI , just wondering if anybody has been using these Aqueon Circulation Pumps? Not sure if they are wavemaker-safe. How are they comparing to the Hydro Koralia Evo? Seems like majority of the individual LFS is not carrying them.. of course...

Interceptor (treat red bugs) - can it be simply praziquantel???

Even if it is located in the US, is there a US law that prohibits talking about the content of a prescribed drug (especially when it's content is very well documented in public domain by the manufacturer). Nowhere in my thread I said about purchasing it without a vet's note or smuggling in or...

Interceptor (treat red bugs) - can it be simply praziquantel???

Can't use Hikari's Prazi Pro? It has it in liquid form ... but yeah probably need the pond version to get it. I think it is listed as < 5% ? Not sure if the stabilizer (Oxybispropanol) is an issue though

Interceptor (treat red bugs) - can it be simply praziquantel???

Let me repost my question here since the ignorant and arrogant RC moderator decided to exercise their dictatorship. NOTE: Interceptor is a dog de-wormer that requires vet's approval. This thread's purpose is not to ask or tell you where you can buy it. But the possibility that this is not...

How to Make a Safe Water Change for Fish

Becareful when you are using those trash can, some of them are not made with food-graded plastics and might leak chemicals back out, especially if you feed RODI water directly into them.

The UV -- For U and ME

was talking to BF the other day, he recommends the use of ozone for dis-infection, as suppose to UV. He said that alot of large wholesale and import operation uses that instead. Just wondering what's your thought on using ozone to replace UV, which one is more effective?

    Clown Fish Strange Behavior

I will take another stand on this. This is actually normal maroon territory marking behavior. It is very common for maroon (tomato, and some other) more territorial clownfish to do the sand moving, rock moving, "home renovations" to especially when it is right at their territory (i.e. near...

    White thing

yes, it can be gone that fast. In fact, you can manually remove it but unless you using the proper cleaning, the wound might be subject to bacterial infection, so it's best to let it go on its own.

Immune Boosters - Additives for Marine Fishes

Lee, with regard to the Beta glucan, I am using the one from vitamin shoppe (yeah finally get to travel to US more often to buy these). It comes in pill form and I find it very very hard to get dissolve and use, what is your preferred way of dissolving this and mix with food?

    White thing

Does not look like brook. If it is more cotton ball like, it is most like Lymphocystis (white cotton disease). It is caused by virus and does not have any direct cure. It is usually caused by environmental stress (aggression, new environment, malnutrition). Focus on giving the fish better...

    Amphiprionidae (Clownfish) Workshop

From what I remembered, this thread has not been updated for awhile, so I will answer some of the questions before the owner jumps in. At least 2-3 years before you even see the slightest yellowish tint, I have not seen any t.r. GSM that reached the w.c. GSM complete yellowish/gold color yet...

    Amphiprionidae (Clownfish) Workshop

yeah even in the industry it is very confuisng as alot of dealer/wholesaler/importer cannot label them correctly. But from your description, without any orange, it's probably a full black ocellaris. Onyx percula no matter how black, will have somewhat orange.

    Amphiprionidae (Clownfish) Workshop

No, you should assume they are black ocellaris :) Or black saddleback or black clarkii Onyx will have orange on them.

    Parameters max out?

Thanks Don for the help and insights. I actually keep the reactor pretty fluidize (by shaking it twice daily), so maybe that also contributes. I will just run the reactor with inside pH of 7.2 for now to lower the parameters. While on the topic, can anybody confirm that a high Mg level will...

    Parameters max out?

I thought the whole reason for high Mg for biopysis is because high Mg level actually damage the functioning of chorophyll, so it should work for all chorophyll based plants (green plants?)? no? I think I will take the reactor offline and wait for it to drop. What other parameters might...

    Parameters max out?

I was dosing B-ionic today and noticed that when I add the ALK buffer, the stuff actually precipitate out of the water so I asked my assistant to test the Mg/Ca/ALK ratio for me. Found out that my Cal and ALK is very high and I am wondering if it has to do with my Calcium reactor media being...

those few acans are definitely what we US/Canada LFS called "grade A" acans, how much are they retail there in Australia? And also, how much are those wide-banded clowns cost over there? It cost around US$150-350 depending on size.
