    Salifert Calcium Test Kit Bad?

Raising Alk In response to this problem with Oceanic Salt, I plan on switching brands to IO which I used on my last tank. For the interim, is there anything that I can do to raise the alk? I added B-Ionic 2 part yesterday after I ran all of my tests.

Does this sound like a bad ballast...?

I have an Advance m58 Fcan ballast that I used about a year and a half ago. I had it firing an Ushio 250W 10k bulb without any problems. I recently setup a new tank and have an XM 10k loaded in it. It seems to be firing very yellow and not very bright in my opinion. Could this be the...

Which of these lighting options would you choose and why...

Let me explain... I currently have a new 24DX nancube cycling. I have the stock lighting setup on it. I want to have mainly LPS and zoos with 1 or 2 SPS, probably a monti cap and pocilipora or millipora. With the stock hood, I can pay $135, at the cheapest that I can find so far, for a 70W MH...

    Live rock growths

I picked up a piece of live rock from an established tank and am curious about what is attached to it. Spread out on the are milky yellowish white bubles attached to the rock. They are about 1/2" to 3/4" in circumference. I don't have a picture, but I was hoping that someone may know what it is.
