    hood plans

That's an idea I suppose. I have plenty of exotic wood and lots of tools though. I think I would prefer wood (pun intended).

Are there any bird lovers in this forum?

We have a Blue and Gold Macaw. We have had several Blue Crown Conures and an Orange Wing Amazon and a Molacan Cockatoo.

Does anyone know of plans for a hood for a bowfront. Doesn't have to be the 16g version (I can modify the plans to suit). Thanks

    what about garf?

I bought some stuff from them a few years ago when I was in Boise visiting family. They have a great deal of neat corals and will undoubtedly send you home with some awesome stuff. I don't know anything about their shipping or other issues but my experience while visiting them was positive...

    Power Outage Survivor

Power was out for almost 12 hours. Tank temp dropped to 60. Note...Hydnophora does NOT like low temps. All my frags basically nechrophied (not sure if thats a word). They rotted away to nothing. I think I'm going to loose a couple of the heads on my candy cane doral that I got from you big...

    Whats your worst Reef Experience??

The anti-syphon holes on my 72g reef clogged with coraline. Of course the power went out during the night. Woke up with NO water in the tank.

    water movement?

I love the scwd. Never had any problems with mine and I did ream out the fittings to 1/2 inch. They do reduce the flow substantially but that can be overcome by a larger pump and opening up the ports on the scwd.

Is 4 watts per gallon enough ??

I had lps and softies in my 72g bowfront that did very well under 5.3 watts per gallon...however, that was with halides. I even had some clams in there that were doing awesome (they were high in the tank). http://www.thewildsidepetswa.com/752580.html (travis' reef) Just be careful on...

    What do you all think???

Nice meeting you also Tom. I'm actually going to plumb the whole thing with pvc. Just wanted to make sure it was actually going to work before I went through all that work. Don't really have anything in the sump at the moment except some reef mud and the heater. Will put the skimmer in there...

    What do you all think???

Yes I have a syphon break on BOTH locline returns near the bulkheads. Now if I can just remember to make sure that they don't clog up with coraline....

    Drilling 75 for closed loop

I would drill it. This is how I drilled my 16g: http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f281/moeandicy/nanoplumbing.jpg

    What do you all think???

One thing I might modify though is switching the returns from the sump to the top and removing the scwd. Then modifying the scwd to have three outputs and then putting the scwd on the closed loop and have it switch between the three closed loop outlets. Any thoughts????
