    Catching fish with cyanide

I need to add there there are some signs of fish caught with cyanide. The first you will notice is that during the first one or two, things seem normal, then all of a sudden, diet and eating stops. The girth of the fish will quickly decrease. Cyanide it seems to affect the fish inside, rather...

    Catching fish with cyanide

This is a touchy subject...with roots going far back. I do not want to comment on how bad it is right now, because I simply do not know. A lot of people in the industry (my dad included) stopped working after widespread use of cyanide. He refused to work, and is now in a different profession...

Baby Clown Fish..... Calling Elmo18 S.O.S.

Hi EliteRecon, I just saw this. Yes, I do agree, that you should get Joyce Wilkerson's book. It is not only informative, but is a great book on breeding clowns. I am sorry that I did not see this earlier. Best, Ilham

    ClownFish Developement step by step

This is a good read. I love it. You do not need a skimmer for baby clowns until...well there are too many and start to create lots of poop ;) Clarkiis are actually one of the harder species to breed, as they have a hard time going through metamorphosis. As Rod mentioned, HUFAs, and high...

Trying out my new Canon 50D

Hi Rick! Lovely photos as always! I just acquired an EOS 40D. I will need some pointers, if you have the time :) I am not sure if I'm ready to shell out $800 for an 17-55 IS, so it will be the 17-85 IS for now. Well, and I do have the Nifty Fifty. What Macro do you suggest? Canon 100mm...

    Closed loop openings

In my opinion, the above options don't really apply for closed-loops. I would be more concerned about the size hole you will be using as the closed-loop intake, and the pump you will be using....and the holes of the output :) The PVC pipe size, also matters. Best, Ilham

    Picasso pics after a year

True perculas are really amazing when they do show their colors. They will tend to get darker, and eventually outline their white bars with black (or black completely between the white bars). Of course, not everything is in the genes, as quality foods and water quality, and lighting help bring...

    adding sand to estblished tank

Hi mrichinen, I would add little at a time, possibly 1/2" layer at a time, so that you don't smother anything. I would use a PVC pipe, and pour the cleaned sand down the PVC pipe so that the sand does not disperse everywhere. Best, Ilham
