How to mod your Jabeo for an Apex without a reef angel cable

No, I used heat shrink wrap on all the connections and then used electrical tape to hold it all together. I never have been one in this hobby to worry about making my wiring pretty.

    Fragging a frogspawn

No, the skeletons are all dead about a inch below the bottom of the flesh of each polyp.

How to mod your Jabeo for an Apex without a reef angel cable

They are a 1k Ohm 1 watt resistor from Radio Shack. About $3 a pair.

    Fragging a frogspawn

Its easy. Just break it apart at each "Y" as far from the polyp as possible. I've tried fragging them close to the polyp and sometimes the skeleton will break in half. I have always been able to save them with superglue but have been lucky.

How to mod your Jabeo for an Apex without a reef angel cable

I researched as many threads as I can without spending too much time spinning my wheels. Here is the diagram I followed. At first I wired it wrong and the voltage wasn't reduced. Here is what the semi finished product looks like This is the proper wiring configuration for the voltage...

    Calcium

I don't test for Calcium with my reactor very often. THE MOST IMPORTANT READING IS YOUR ALKALINITY. As long as you keep your Dkh stable, You should not have to worry too much about your calcium. I keep my Dkh around 10-12 and my calcium is never above 400 and mg is never above 1300. I don't...

    Jabao pumps

LOL............ I understand the "overkill" thought. If you look at the pic in my sig, or my tank thread, you'll see that I had 20,000 gal/hr running in the tank at that time. When I started out, I had only 5,000 gal/hr in it, but as everything grew I added flow. I eventually thinned out corals...

    Jabao pumps

I know this is a day old but no way. I have two wp_40's and two Tunze's 6105's on my six foot 210 SPS dominated tank. I have a hard time believing that there is such a thiing as too much flow for a fish tank. I always tend to push a 100x turnover in my tanks

    Jebao DC-6000 pumps

I don't, but have read quite a few good things about them on the web. I was talking with Kirk about them and he seemed to have some first hand experience with them. Hopefully he will chime in.

    Fish tank suggestions

I think in a tank like that a trickle filter is probably going to be just as effective as a small fuge and easier to maintain long term. WC's every two weeks and regular maintenance on the filter and media reactors should get things back in order soon enough.

    Egg crate below sand?

In 25 years of fish keeping and having quite a few of them loaded full of rock for African ciclids. I've never had one blow out or break due to a rock touching the bottom. How much rock do you plan to put into how big of a tank? I'm pretty sure that "people" who put egg crate under their...

    Canister Filters?

I ran dual fluval 405's for a few years while my 210 was FW. They kept up just fine.

Unless you think its totally awesome, anything that grows super fast is bad. Those look like Paly's.

    Galaxy ?

Do you mean galaxea? If the pics I was just looking at were correct and it is an LPS with sweepers then it is very possible for it to eat a snail.
