Schedule through the end of the year

RF, As some of you know, we have been super busy with no break in the action for the last 4-5 months. Just wanted to let everyone know that we have one slot left open for a tank or sump till the end of the year. If your on the fence about either, email us asap to ensure delivery by Dec.24th...

    Filter Socks

I do on my home system. I gotta tell you, that my original design that is over 20 years old is better, and way less hassle. I used run a tower with 3 drawers that had holes for the water to drip through. Placing cheap filter floss into the drawers made cleaning them a cinch. Most things get...

Get the word out! This site SHOULD NOT DIE!!!

How about a Reeffrontiers.com facebook page? One needs to change with the times or become a dinosaur. I try to post pics as often as I can, and get the same 6 people posting, looks good. How about getting some big names to sponsor here. Just need to look as some of the other big sites. Just my...

Full Build going to New York!

Mimosa, We have done many water change systems in the past. We usually have a number of gallons we want to shoot for in our heads, and then we make the sump have a chamber that big. It works best when you shut down the main pump and let the tank drain down. Then close one valve/open another...

Full Build going to New York!

Maxx, The heaters are 300 waters. I had them mounted vertical because they are very long heaters. Even though they are fully submersible, I like to keep the ends out of the water. They seem to last forever this way. I like using Starboard, saltwater proof, UV proof and easy to clean...

Full Build going to New York!

RF, Ok, she is done and crated for her trip to New York! Here are a few pic's to check out. We built a 84x36 pallet for the full build to travel on. We centered the stand on the pallet, leaving lots of room for foam, and the reat of the pallet. Next came the sump, and it's riding on a...

Ok RF, Here is an update on this tank. We have finished the tank and filter, as well as the Cherry wood for this killer tank. Check it out! Jason Now that is a porthole! The Left side which is black. The pic makes it look curved, but it is very strait! Here is the laminated Cherry face...

RF, Cory from Aquarium Co-op ordered up a custom 180 build for one of his Discus clients. 72x24x24 with some cool custom features. Follow along, and everyone is welcome to chime in! The start of every build is the OFB, or overflow box. The client choose blue! Then we draw lots of lines on...

    36" Rimless Cube

I'd be looking at 3/8 Minimum. The savings of DIY could justify 1/2". J

    Overflow box noise.

Is your OFB a hang on style or internal to the tank? Hang on OFB's will do that, but if it is an internal kind that is built into the tank, there are a few ways to combat this. Search Herbie drain, and durso stand pipe. One of these will fix you up, J

Full Build going to New York!

RF, Hard charging to get this build finished for Jamie. He should be "Jonesin" by now! Mounted all the Apex goodies on a removable panel. 3 Stainless bolts and the whole unit comes out. You'd think there would be tons of room under a 210. Not after we get done! Here is the energy bar for...

    Eric B's Custom 225 Gallon

Spinner, I'm not sold on the thin Ghost boxes. Looks like one could fail, and nobody wants that. I share a little on other forums, the cost to be a sponsor of some of them has skyrocketed in the last few years. Something that I need to think about. Thanks for the thumbs up, J

Full Build going to New York!

RF, We are going to use a pair of Ecotech MP-60's for some flow in this tank. I felt that we should have a neat little holder for the controller. Let me know what you think. This is the prototype. Here is the finished mount and MP-60 holder. Left side. Right side. Side view...
