    scratches

Micro mesh will be your friend. Start with 8000 grit and see what it does. Only go as coarse as you have to. Treat your tank like the paint of your favorite dream car any you'll be fine. Get the kit that has foam on the inside, and has micro mesh on the 2 sides. Good luck, Jason

conradryaan, I have a little acrylic fabrication shop in South Seattle. Been building aquariums, steel stands, sumps and stuff for about 12 1/2 years for myself. Worked for a shop for about 3 1/2 years before that. I have also worked retail at a saltwater aquarium store for awhile in the past...

    SNOW!

RF, I got a bite to eat tonight at about 5:00, after sticking some acrylic together. Came back to the shop about 20 minutes later. Most of my dinner time was thinking of how I miss one of my favorite summer time activities. I leave the shop and there is a 1/2 of snow on my truck! Here are a...

We do wet/dry filters of all shpes and sizes

RF, If anyone knows my history, you will know this is where I got my start. Building wet/dry filters. They seem simple to build, but they are time consuming and can get tricky with all the baffles and options. Here is a nice simple filter that will out perform wet/dry's that are mass produced...

RF, Been super busy around the shop. Had little time for taking pic's. Here are a few that I shot 2 minutes before the new owner came to pick her up. The tank will fit in a nook in an entry way, should look pretty good when wet! If you need to ask why is there a few pieces of paper left in...

    stand pipe / durso

There is always a way, just depends on what you are willing to do. I don't know what tank your talking about, glass, or acrylic. When someone comes to me for a build, I insist on at least 1 primary drain, and one back up. Nobody has come back saying they wanted their money back for a bulkhead...

    stand pipe / durso

how to minimize acrylic tank scratching?

Bare bottom will help greatly. Try a Algae Free for their magnetic cleaners. Change the inside pad every few uses, and the felt outside every 10+ uses. Just keep an eye on both. Don't let little ones "help", keep the magnets in a safe spot. Don't let the tank get too overgrown before you work on...
