I would just pull them out as you see them. Mine are all over my Astrea snails so I pull them out and give them the once over with a toothbrush. I have other snails and have yet to see them on anything but the Astrea snails. I purchased a royal gramma and put him in my tank with my sixline. 1...

I read through that before running carbon and have since only used Warner Marine or TLF Hydro Carbon. I have been pleased with the results.

I only run into that while mine is on. When its off the ambient temperature in the house heats up the water in the lines, and unit so it stops. You could always look into some sort of insulation.

Strange that you have a Sixline with a Royal Gramma. Sixlines typically kill Royal Grammas. You read the "get a leapard wrasse" thing on my thread. Sixlines are also natural predators of pyram snails. http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-09/jf/index.php

I'm just trying to stop the Snail on Snail violence. With all the stuff I've had to deal with since getting a tank I think I should pick out the next pest I want to have in my tank. Maybe start a pest only tank. :)

Last night I pulled each snail out that I could find one at a time and scrubbed them off with a tooth brush. In the end I would guess I pulled out a couple hundred. I figure I'll just add this to my routine until I can get them under control, then throw in a natural predator to put the smack down.

No clams. Seems the only thing they can get ahold of at the moment is the snails. I just want to get them under control.
