ive been using the Bulk reef supply Rox 0.8 and it seems to work really good but a bit pricey was looking at there other carbon...that is ALOT cheaper was wondering what might be the difference....its activated lignite carbon only 50 bucks for a five gallon bucket....compared to 140 for Rox 0.8 im sure there is a major difference but not sure what it is...

also heard that TFG carbon was really good any suggestions...just dont want to spend 140 bucks for the ROX unless its great stuff..

From what I have read the Rox 0.8 is the best for our application, as to why Im still a bit confused on that. Something to do with pore size and many other factors..lol..Maybe boomer can shed some light on this subject.

I also bought some lignite carbon from bulk reef supply. I didn't get the Rox but I did get the (large) 1 gallon tub of lignite.

The look of it is comparable to black diamond carbon , which I have also read is good carbon.

if you do a search on carbon on this board you will find a ton of interesting information.. HTH

I read through that before running carbon and have since only used Warner Marine or TLF Hydro Carbon. I have been pleased with the results.
