    New frag prop tank?

I set up a 10g prop tank to get some more frags going for trade and placement back in the main. If I was not before I am definately hooked now. Basically, I used a 10g with a upside down plastic basket (shelf simialr to eggcrate) half way up so the corals will be about 4-6" from the surface...

    Fragging soft coral?

When you do the actual fragging I would place the entire coral in a small tank/ bucket and do the cutting iin there submerged along with however you choose to attach it to the rock (like the sewing idea). During the process the coral will slime which is why you cannot use super glue as Brenden...

    Dwarf lion in a reef?

Thanks for all the great information. I decided to give it a try. I did ID it upon closer exam as a dwarf zebra lion with the two small white dots by the tail, not a spotfin as I originally thought. It is in QT right now. So far it has not successfully feed. Tried frozen mysis, krill and...

    Dwarf lion in a reef?

Thanks, now that the tangs are gone the cleaner could be moved out. As for swimming area I am confident there is plenty as the tangs seemed happy. I have tons of caves in the rock work. From what I have read else where they like to camouflage themselves in caves and crevices in a defensive...

    Dwarf lion in a reef?

The clowns are maroons. The male would be about twice the size of the lion right now as it was pretty small. Anyone know how fast dwarf lions grow? My hope is that the clowns keep growing now that they have a bit more room. I recently saw some maroons over 6". I realize the chromis and even...

    Dwarf lion in a reef?

Everything I have read says with caution. I am aware of the obvious caution...."if it will fit in its mouth it will eat it". I have never owned a lion due to the fact that I have always had smaller fish and did not think they were reef safe. LFS did not think they would bother any invert...

How to remove corals without hurting them...

I can't believe you wrote that, but ohhh so true! depending on what it is attached to if you remove the rock and do the cutting in a seperate container you might have better luck and not poullut your main. My experience is that xenia tend to wander where they want, so beware. HTH,

Steve-S, I am pretty careful with food choices for the reason you mentioned. Additionally I feed very sparingly. I will double check the label on some spectrum pellets I have. Thanks,

It is a 90g reef with 30g DIY sump/fuge (10g of it for fuge). Currently using a bakpak II with all filter media removed for skimming in sump. Additonally have 2 powerheads with sponges in tank. Looking at building a closed loop though to replace these. Basically the sump work by water...

Wow, nice fish, what kind of rabbit fish is it? Mostly only see foxface around here. Yes the PO4 is the culprit and the deaths I am sure did not help. I do skim and have an in home RO system that I use. I almost had the algea undercontrol with PO4 sponge and pwc. Fortunately not nearly as...

Hello, I am new to this site(thanks Brenden) Anyway, thought I would start out looking for some stocking advice. I have been away off and on for a few weeks with work and family and other than regular FW top offs and making sure someone feed the tank it did not get a whole lot of attention...
