    Chiller

Sorry.......I can't speak to recommendations for a 125 gal tank. However, I added one to my 80 gal tank 3 weeks ago. AND.....what a huge difference. I live in an area along Calif coast that has a temp swing of 40+ deg per day. My tank was going from 76 to 84-88 2-3x per week. Now....76-78...

Aragonite Sand - Champagne Bubbles forming

Hi Guys, I recently converted an existing tank of 12 years to a new tank. Maintained all the same water, live rock, aragonite sand, corals and fish.....took ~ 2 hours to convert. After setting up (6 hours later) , I did a 30% water change and added a 20 lbs of CaribSea Live Sand. 4 weeks...

RED SLIME - Can't get rid of it!

I have a well established tank (75 gal) that has been running for 12 years. I have been getting Red Slime for the past few months and have tried close chemistry monitoring, ChemiPure treatments w/water changes, physical removal then Chemipure treatments. And.....after 1-2 weeks it is back...

    Reef Lighting

Now I'm really confused....... too much light, not enough light, stick wtih PC's? To help clarify, I have two protien skimmers running (2 x CPR SR2 skimmers) and two Eheim 1260 pumps (~1300 gph) running through a manifold with excellent flow. Input filtering through a 5 micron biobag filter...

    Reef Lighting

I'm preparing to move my tank and I'm looking at upgrading my lighting system. I have a 75 gallon tank with Power Compacts 4 X 96 watt lighting (~ 5 watts per gallon). I 'm looking at the Hmilton w/ 2 X 175w or 2X250 w Metal Halid w/ 2X96 watt power compacts. I would like some input on what...

    Green Hair Algae Take Over

Mike, Did some extensive water testing...... No phosphates and no nitrates in the aragonite sand, in the algae bed, near the rocks anywhere. My suspicion is that IF there is any phospates or nitrates present that the green aglae would suck them up as their food source immediately (?). I'm...

    Green Hair Algae Take Over

No death in the tank that I can detect. And the food/suppliments have been the same for 2 years along with the tank is isolated from any direct sun light. As for janitors....I could probably use some additional turbos. Currently have 5-6 turbos, 8 red leg hermits and 1 conch.

Greetings, Would appreciate some input from the forum on Green Hair Algae. I have a 65 gal tank that is fairly stocked with rock and soft corrals. Power Compact 96W X 4 lighting, 2 protien skimmers, good water flow and filtration through a "diatone bag". Just in the past 2 months I have...
