    Who done it?

About two months ago I lost most of my sps and lps corals (zoas & clams unscathed). No water parameters were ever off, temperature was consistent in the proper range, and there was no real change in anything. After several large water changes and the addition of more carbon, the majority of the...

    Wish Me Luck!!

Wow. I'm sorry to hear that as well. If it is any encouragement for a future CBB, mine has never looked twice at my croceas (it did think about the Derasa - bit once - and changed it's mind). All fish are different though... Again, we're sorry for you...

    How to move a clam...

I had the clam at about 15" below the light bulbs themselves. The other clam was at about 20". I have moved the clam in question to the same level as the other, and it is doing great. It's already attached to it's new rock. Thank you for all of the input.

    How to move a clam...

I know he tests for nitrates, but I wasn't aware he did full param tests. The clam I got from you is doing great by the way. It's grown a whole new scute :) It's lower in the tank though. It would seem to me that if I had param issues, it would be affecting all of the clams and any of my...

    How to move a clam...

Yes, the bisal threds are attached to the rock. I really think it has a lot to do with lighting, as the clam lower in the tank has gained color since I got it. The other clam at twice the height has lost it. As far as params go, my salinity is at 1.023. Alk was a bit low at 6 dkh. Per advice...

    How to move a clam...

My crocea has been browning slightly for the past two months, which I believe is due to my placing it too high in the tank. I have read that they brown when they are receiving too much light, so the issue now is how to move it. Or, could it possibly be that it isn't happy because one end of it...

    hammer and frogspawn

Just a few days ago my branching hammer/frogspawn mutant (odd, not sure if it's possible, but that's what I was told it was) fell on my green wall hammer coral. It lost color, shriveled up, and the next day was fine. Not sure if that helps...

    Burrowing Crocea/ Holey Limestone

Thanks for the article. That makes me much more comfortable about my clams lack of burrowing, lol.

    Burrowing Crocea/ Holey Limestone

In the general discussion thread it was concluded I have texas holey limestone as some of the rock in my tank. I happened to place my crocea on some of this rock, and am wondering if it may have any difficulty burrowing into this variety of rock.

    Rock ID

Will do... And i'll be keeping an eye on it too. I would hate to soak it at this point, considering the abundance of life that now resides within/on it, but I'm glad to know there are options. I'll keep that in mind though when I have to move the tank this fall/winter and if I'm noticing...

    Rock ID

Well, all corals/inverts are fine. My concern is that I would confuse the rust, if it appeared, with coralline algae, diatoms, or cyanobacteria. Thank's for the head's up though.
