    Off the wall plumbing question

I don't have any real input except for your head pressure question. Head pressure would be reduced by using all 3/4" pipe because it will have less frictional water loss. Vertical head pressure is the same whether you use 1/4" pipe or 4" pipe.

    1000 Gallon

Hey Brett, for a 1000g tank, you might want to spend the money and get some decent bulkheads. The ones you picked up are junk, and are very easy to crack. I can break them by hand tightening them. Take a look at some of these, they are more expensive, but I think that since you bought...

    Dieing Xenia

I considered is a blessing when my xenia all died. Try adding a couple drops of iodine in your sump on a daily basis. That may help. Xenia are a funny one, some people can keep them for years and have them be prolific, others just cant get them to take off. I hope you can figure it out!

    Large rimless/braceless acrylic tank?

I would definately go w/ glass for rimless tanks. Acrylic is just too flexible and will end up bowing over time. I am not sure that even 1.5" would not end up bowing. It would be perfectly safe, just look bad. Don't buy your plastic from TAP, let you tank builder buy it from their supplier...

    any homebrewers?

The board that I look at the most is brewboard.com also homebrewtalk.com is good. There are a lot of different levels of homebrewing. I am personally into all grain brewing, but I started out by reading The New Complete Joy of Homebrewing by Charlie Papazian, and doing extract batches with...

    any homebrewers?

Hey I was on a beer brew board and I saw old Slickdonkey posting over there and he has an impressive 10 keg kegerator! How many others are there that love to brew their own? I have been homebrewing for about 2 years and it sure is a great hobby for the diy'er and also is nice and slow paced...

    help glue on my acrylic

Yup superglue is tuff to get off of acrylic. Like don said you need to sand it off, then will have to buff it out. There is a product out there for taking superglue off, but I don't know how it will affect acrylic.

Acrylic HELP needed Please possible blow out

Hey Andy, I hate to tell you "I told you so" That tank is a ticking time bomb. You would need to drain it completely, let it dry for a week or so, then glue in 1/2 in square strips w/ weldon 40 in all the seams. It in not a difficult process, you would just want to mask off the edges so that...

    diy tank

"Cell cast" means that the hot liquid acrylic is pored into a mold and is much denser and absorbs less water then the alternative. The alternative is Extruded acrylic which is continually extruded and is much softer and more scratchable. brand varieties of cell cast include Spartech...
