    LPS question

Not putting them near each other may prove to be tough in a 15 gallon, these guys grow fast and can develop huge sweepers! I believe hammers and frogspawns are mostly compatible though.

    Plankton

"pods" is a pretty generalized description that covers hundreds if not thousands of different critters.

    bio balls

A single actinic is more than plenty for your coraline algae, no need to run all the lights at this time.

    bio balls

If you do not have any photosynthetic livestock and you are having algae issues then I would leave your lights off at this time. At the most I would only run one of your actinics. Right now your lights are only benefitting the algae.

New house, upgrading nanos....need DIY SUMP info...

Water is pumped from the sump into the display, the display flows over back into the sump. The sump doesn't overflow because the amount of water overflown from the display is equal the amount that was pumped from the sump.

    Mounting shrooms

And of course, panty hose makes great nylon sachets for baiting crab traps :D

To chill or not to chill???

I'd hate to have to pay your electricity bills!

To chill or not to chill???

Well if your tank has the potential for overheating then there is no comparison, the chiller would be essential while the CA reactor is just a convenient tool. Any idea what the ambient room temperature will be during the hottest time of the year? Do you leave your aircon running 24/7 in the...

    bio balls

If your tank is not established yet then you can simply remove it all.

    new tank pics[dial up beware]

Beautiful tank, very Japanese looking. You should get a bunch of those spotlights to complete the look ;)

    bio balls

Definitely take it slowly, just yanking the bioballs will upset the balance of your system.

best place to get a retrofit?

I have ordered from AH Supply before, was happy with both the product and the service. I recommend them.

    bio balls

No because the bioballs become a detritus/nutrient trap and the bacteria living in them will eventually add to the bioload of your tank. Skimming organics before decomposition in combination with liverock will handle ammonia and nitrite with ease. It would be very unusual to be able to detect...

    Mounting shrooms

Probably lasts until you start cutting up her panty hose to cover your coral rubble shroom bowls :D

Angry need to vent, Tank Vandalism!!

That's really sad :( Thank God nobody poored chemicals into the tank or cut a pipe. I'd be somewhat concerned about that now...

    KNOP S-IV Ca Reactor???

Dennerle is quality German equipment. Milwaukee meters are fine too. I'd be very careful not to run that reactor too hard and test CA and ALK often, you can do serious damage to your 180 gallon tank if you use a CA reactor rated for 600 gallons! If you are in Thailand then get Sanso pumps...

    KNOP S-IV Ca Reactor???

I have no personal experience with the Knop reactor but Knop is a solid manfuacturer that makes quality stuff AFAIK.
