What kind of worm is this?

ah, gotcha! Thanks for the info. It doesn't look like a Eunicid (tentacles a little longer), terebellid (tentacles not that long) or a fireworm just by looking at photos in a google search. I'll try to get a picture.

What kind of worm is this?

Thanks for the info steve and leslie, I'm glad it's reef safe!! I do have another worm for you both to identify, but I'm having a hard time getting a picture. It's very similar to the one above, but it lives at the base of the live rock and the sand. It doesn't look like a bristleworm, it has...

What kind of worm is this?

I'm reading a contradiction between the caption and the article, one says that "I think that these animals make a fantastic addition to a reef tank" and another says "but they are not suitable for the reef aquarium". Well, I've hadn't had any corals fall out of any spots and they seem to be...

What kind of worm is this?

I see this little guy (about 2 inches long) on my glass every now and again. It hasn't really grown since the first time I saw it about 6 months ago. I thought it might be a medusa worm or a small cuccumber. Is he okay in a reef tank?

    Pipefish info

I thought of using polysporin. Is polysporin the same as neosporin? From what I've read polysproin is the same but it doesn't have neomysin. Is it okay if the polysporin gets into the water?

    Pipefish info

The pipefish died this morning, and another one now has an infected tail :( I've tried looking for neomycin and aparently it's not available in canada. I've got the one pipefish in a 3 gallon hospital tank, and I'm still looking for some broad spectrum antibiotic. Does anyone know if I could do...

    Pipefish info

I posted on seahorse.org and the response is that its vibrio, a gram negative bacteria. I've treated the tank with erythromycin, but apparently it only treats for gram positive bacteria. It's suggested that I isolated the pipefish and treat with neomycin with a type of sulfa medication. Anyway...

I've made an account there, but they have to review my application before I can post. So, I thought I'd ask here hoping I could get some quick replies. Thanks, I'll take a look around :D

    Pipefish info

It started to develope after I introduced it (there was another pipefish with this one at the LFS I work at that died, it too had a wound, but I thought it was because it got stuck on the powerhead).

    Pipefish info

I recently got three alligator pipefish in my 30 gallon reef tank. They have been in the tank for a little over a week. One has a growing wound on it's side: I'm not sure how to treat for it, is there a topical treatment? My other two pipefish are changing colors; one is turning more red and...

    aquariumgirl's reefs

Well, here it is... with some new additions!! Everything from the 3 gallon and the 10 gallon went into the 30 gallon. Still needs lots of live rock to fill it up, but I think I'm off to a good start.
