    Hardware store sands in reefs

At that price, you might as well just buy the CaribSea... http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewItem~SearchStr~~action~view~idProduct~CS0930~idCategory~FISSDS~category~CaribSea_Aragamax_Sugar_Sized_Sand_30_lb_Saltwater_Aquarium_Supplies_Substrates_Dry_Sand~vendor~.html

    I Have Declared War!!!!

Berghia Nudibranchs... my friend had some horrible aptasia, the nudibranchs did marvelous work. Now I'm trying to "inherit" them for my tank.

    average reef size

A 4' tank kind of provides a happy medium and seems most popular. 4' of lights is remarkably cheaper than 6' of lights. In terms of maintenance a 6' tank can cost several hundred more per year over a 4' tank. A 4' tank also means that most tangs are "off-limits." I'd love to have a 6' tank...

just to let people see what my tank looks like for now.

The remoras work well. They pull very wet. The only problem is that they require frequent (once a month) cleaning of the injector. I have both the nano (on 20H) and regular (on 80) HOT versions and they both do a good job.

    Live rock in sumps

I have some LR in the refugium area of my sump. I have just enough to give the critters places to hide and reproduce. Plus when I'm dumping water in my sump the LR breaks the water so it doesn't stir up all of my "miracle mud".

    Aquarium Bill

It's like a swinging pendulum... politicians rarely get it right the first time and now it looks like it is swinging to the far left. Washington state is notorious for this. Washington has a Department of Fish and Wildlife that regulates the harvesting of our wildlife and they set limits each...

    picasso clown

Very nice pattern! I would certainly try to get some cyclopleeze. It seems to be universally loved by all fish. I get the frozen stuff that comes in a little squirt bottle.

    Aquarium Bill

Are yellow tangs really that desirable? I don't mind the bill... seems like a good compromise between income potential for harvesters and reef sustainability. Puts more pressure on the community to improve captive breeding techniques.

    picasso clown

I had zero luck feeding the ORA pellets to my ORA picassos. They seemed to eat everything else though. Mysis, Flake, Cyclopleeze, and frozen foods. I'm glad I only purchased the mini pellet container.

    Coraline Problem

They are reef safe, but they are also like bulls in a china shop. They won't eat any of your corals, but they will inadvertantly knock things over. I used one for a while just to get rid of the coraline, then I traded it off. The pincushions tend to stick more to the glass, the pencils cling...

    Best item for a tank

Put me on the list... my turkey baster irritates me. Hole is too big, length is too short.

I think it is actually GSP. That stuff will spread like crazy.

    high ph problems

Ph is a tad high, but not bad. It probably has little to do with your cyano or stressing fish. I would stop the kalk for now and the Ph should drop in time. If your reef tank has been up for 6 years, there may be a chance that your DSB (if you have one) is saturated and releasing phosphates...

The deal is now available on petsolutions. Got 3 buckets of reef crystals for $33 each plus $13 shipping! Total was about $113

    Rod's Food

I like it... some say to avoid it because of the wide variety of foods in the mix, but as long as you have a variety of eaters, it is great.

    My Sincere Apology

I'm sorry I missed the fireworks show... I have no idea why you are apologizing Tracy, but good on you.
