Bad news about Johnny (aka "Montanareefer")

Ack... Erik beat me to the punch... ;) Anyway, to add to Erik's post, Johnny said he's a bit weak, but doing alright. He also said that he starts rehabilitative therapy Thursday morning, but the major part of the ordeal is over (thankfully). He also said that he received approximately 80...

Bad news about Johnny (aka "Montanareefer")

Another update: I just got off the phone with Johnny, and believe it or not he sounds the best I've ever heard. :D The stent that was put in his heart has helped with his circulation, and he says he feels a lot better than he did even before the attack. He's in high spirits and says that he's...

Bad news about Johnny (aka "Montanareefer")

Update: We were able to get through to Johnny's wife Pat, and apparently Johnny had died, but was revived by paramedics at the scene. He has been admitted to the ICU and has had a stent put in his artery, which had become completely blocked. He currently is drifting in and out of consciousness...

What was the best score for your tank?

Jinkies... I thought my stand was overbuilt... then I saw charlie's... Hrm... I'd say my best score would have to be my 7" Montipora plate that I've still been unable to identify... it has corallites like a danae, but also has vertical corallite growth... it looks like a monti that...

    Yasha Hase Shrimp Goby

Yes, they're bottom dwellers, but when frightened they tend to try to swim 'up and out'... just make sure you have a good lid or canopy, or it may end up carpet surfing. You shouldn't have to worry about it getting through the overflow teeth, though it may jump over and into it anyway. Wow...

    Yasha Hase Shrimp Goby

Stonogobiops are fairly easy species to care for, though my luck with them so far has been lacking. Up until 2 days ago I had a Stonogobiops Nematodes (Hi-Fin Banded Goby) and the Alpheus Randalli, and they're a great combination. No special care is needed... they eat pretty much whatever you...

Quality of a "Sea Clone" skimmer??

Here's a full shot of it in the sump.

Quality of a "Sea Clone" skimmer??

It's a section of plastic gutter since I was using it in the sump. The water level was about 18" lower than the outflow of the seaclone, and the gutter gave the seaclone a wall for the water to flow down (like is recommended in the user manual). It worked like a champ.

Quality of a "Sea Clone" skimmer??

I'll be the third 'yay' vote on the Seaclone. First thing I'll say is that both the 'yay' and 'nay' votes have equal weight in this thread. The older model Seaclone was a piece of garbage, and required several modifications in order for it to work properly. The redesigned ones, on the other...

    Disaster Has Struck!

Oh yeah... the live rock will be fine. If you haven't figured it out yet, we aren't gonna let you quit... even if we have to set that reef up at gunpoint... :D It's nice to know that there's still generous people out there in the world... too many people today are only looking out for themselves.
