1 less peppermint!

i know this sounds mean, and wrong. but when i got home yesterday, 2 see my tank. I found my clean up crew haveing a mosh pit on the 1 peppermint shrimp.

i was not sad, not mad, not even upset.

2 peppermints for my tank was 2 much, (really 1 is to much) but

id say, it died for 1 of the 2 reasons.

1 it was full grown, and was at the end of its life. (molted about 10 times in 5 months) (maybe over agsageration) did release eggs once that i saw maybe 2 times

2 it starved.

hard to say really. i know they ate, regularly (judgeing by the molts)

water peramters are fine, so i know it wasnt killed.

the brittle star resontly moved its hide'n spot and evicted the 2 peppermint shrimp (a week ago)



they made quick eatings with him.


anyway, i better go to work. im gonna be late. and i hear gun shots out side, and its 7am. so i better go check that out 2

Humm they live a real long time can grow very large so I doubt it was old age.

I'm sorry to hear you lost your shrimp dood ... hmmm i seriously don't knwo why he died.

i keep a cleaner shrimp and i feed it once a day frozen formula (the red kind) not a huge chuck but a little bit so it doesn't go starving or anything like that, he also gets to eat mysis shrimp everytime i feed my brain coral whick is usually twice a week ...so definetly he eats quite good .

Sheeze, I saw some at he Dallas that were closer to 5" or so long.

it was more then 2 inchs long. i saw closer to 3,

the one that died. was the one that was carriering the eggs under the rear flapper thingies
