as far as not being able to fit the plugs ito the power box Frys carries what I like to call a pigtail extension cord that is nothing more than a complete extension cord that is 6" long so you can use wall warts on power strips etc. They also make another version that is a power "Y" same thing just 2 pigtails instead of 1 if you like I can take a picture of them for you...

I'm also using the 12k reeflux and its great! I think I might try the 14k phoenix the next time though(for my 400w setup)
