Update time!! I just moved to a house that we bought! (Finally) and last weekend moved all my tanks. And the lobster tank was exceptionally difficult. At 750 lbs dryer get is a beast. Let alone the 30 gallons I left in the internal sump. I didn't empty it because I have who knows what growing in there. But in the move the dial was turned down all the way and I lost nearly a dozen fish. Two days later. Luckily I found out after starting a 35 gallon water change. I lost the black rockfish and the large calico rockfish. Along with my mated pair of crecent gunnels along with the rest of my gunnels and my huge purple cockscomb, both sculpins and a gumboot chiton. But after I fixed the problem the tank rebounded within a day. And here are picture updates. I rearranged a lil. It's not real different, it's just that I probably see the changes more than others.

Sorry to hear about your fish losses, but your build sounds exciting. Congrats on the new house, very exciting.

Great news everyone! The tank rebounded immediately after I turned the air back on. i also noticed that I had a few gunnel live and a sculpin or two. Here is video taken one day after the airump was restarted.

HAPPY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! My tank has turned two as of yesterday. I'm stoked that it has made it after having two very difficult tank moves. This is my favorite tank by far and I can't wait to see what's in store for its future. And thanks for everyone's input and interest. Interest in Coldwater tanks have really heated over the past two years. The ease of this system especially now that it's mature and my trips to beautiful beaches and bays really adds to the enjoyment of this tank

great pun about cold water really heating up.....but you know the deal Paul...."pics or it didn't happen". No b-day cake till it HAPPENS! LOL.
Update time! I used a bunch of the livestock in this tank for the Bob moore and packed it back together along with some goodies I got at the there. The newbies are the purple urchins and a senorita wrasse. The wrasse isn't in the video but I'll include a pic or two later.

I still keep a tropical tank. It was downsized due to size retraints due to a new house. But then everything was outta walk and I lost my blue spot jawfish, pair of Ora spotcinctus clowns, mystery wrasse, and royal gramma to marine ick. So I pulled my damsel and have been fallow for 8 weeks. But now without the wrasse the flat worm population exploded. And my elegance coral has taken a dive. Basically I have a tank thick with blue pulsing xenia and mini carpets. So it's nothing to write about right now. Between that and loss of all those Gigantea carpets a year ago I'm hanging in there. But all those loses occurred from from only 2 wrong moves. And resulted in $1700 in losses. So I'm licking my wounds and will start a new with a build soon.

I just thought of a question about your coldwater. Do you experience any of the same problems with the coldwater as we do with our warmer water tanks? Sorry to hear about your tank problems, I remember that elegance coral, it was beautiful.
The simple answanswer is no. Disease, parasites, fungus are rarities and non existent in my tank. I don't quaranteen or dip anything. I don't have to check parameters or dose anything and no water top offs. I dose beneficial bacteria from time to time. But other than that it's food and water changes and replace media. I haven't lost fish other than too lack of oxygen and predation. I have lost inverts to elevated ammonia levels caused by die off due to hypoxic conditions at the bottom of the tank due an airpump shut off. And infections from torn feet from my clumsy collection on occasion. But really I don't lose an entire tank because I added one to many fish. Or because I didn't treat a nem with an antibiotic after a 9 day quaranteen.

This is amazing. What are the collection laws for WA? I know Oregon is pretty lax and most specimens come from there. I keep a few Japanese fish that can handle temps down to the high 50's and I have a monster chiller. All I need is a thick acrylic tank. This might be a fun way to go....
