150w Hqi bulbs

what should i get... i like the blueish tint.

My old 38g ran on Phoenix 14000K, 2x150w HQI.

I thought about switching bulbs once, to an IceCap 10000K. I decided against it.

I also ran Hamilton 14000K for about 3 weeks, but couldn't stick with it. Hamilton 14000K is my favorite 250w bulb, but in the 150w variety it was crap. It was very dim, and very purple. I even had people come by and ask "Why are you running only actinic?" or others ask "Why aren't all the lights on?" Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of that setup, but I'd suggest highly against it... unless you're interested in a pair of 3 week old bulbs?

14K isn't necessarily blue. What I said was that the Hamilton 14K look very purple. I'm still running Phoenix 14K on my new 120, but it's not too blue for me, but it's all personal preference.

Not all bulbs of a specific Kelvin are the same. It will differ from brand to brand. You can't just say "14K is too blue" or "10K is too yellow."
