way cool looking to do same dim tank but center over flow i'll keep watching didn't catch it who built the tank had a quote for 650.00 to build mine but i've got the 3/4 acrylic good luck can't wait to see it running

I havent been feeling well lately. Have most everything ready for the tank. Have the stand half built

Have the stand mostly finished. Have the 3/4" plywood for the top. Just need to cut out the holes. Not sure how I want to skin it yet. Think it should be able to hold the tank.

looks like it could hold a small car but a tank would be way cooler keep up the hard work it will pay off in the end

Got the tank in place. Still need to source some plumbing parts.

Had a fellow club member help me redo some of the plumbing today. Here is a shot with it full of water and running both pumps. No leaks yet. Gonna check for leaks again in the morning and then drain it.

Does someone make a decent inexpensive titanium heater I can use with a controller? So if you plug it in, its on. Or unplug it to turn it off? Think I need a 800w one.

Ordered a heater. Hopefully I can get it to work with my Reef Controller. Emptied the water out of the tank and filled it with the sand and the extra dry base rock I have. I think I might actually have too much rock once I add my live rock from my current tanks. Ideas on aquascaping?

Heater showed up. Filled the tank with sand. Has about 1.5-2 inches of sugar sand across the entire bottom. Also played with ideas for aquscaping. Was thinking of doing a U shape along the back and right side and make an pillar in the front left. I want to try to make a couple caves and holes throughout it. Should be filled with water tomorrow.

Tanks filled with water, sand and a few pieces of rock. Cycling right now. Should be able to transfer next week hopefully. Also picked up a different controller. Using a Reek Keeper now. I was going to be running too many big amp items for the Reef Angel. Anyone have ideas for aquascaping? Or ideas for fish stocking? Here is my livestock list now

lots of hermits and snails

I want to add a tang or two (dont know what ones) and probably a melanurus wrasse..

Powdered blue tangs.
And Caribbean blue tangs.

I like the build, makes me want to build one.

Wouldn't this be better placed in the Member Showcase area instead of design? Maybe if you ask a mod to move it they will help you out.

Either way can't want to see your tank full of life.

Here are some pics of it up and running. Still need to run all the wires. Right now they are just in a big pile next to the tank. And hanging off the side of the tank. Also need to run some carbon or a filter sock to clear up the water. My blenny likes to stir up the sand.

Here are some more pics as promised. We ended up getting more fish also. We got a pair of Cardinal fish, and a mandarin from garret in salem. We also picked up a melanarus wrasse and a kole tang from another shop while we were in town, but both of those fish didnt make it. Dont think we will be buying fish from a store that uses copper again.

Our dart pump for our closed loop crapped out. If anyone knows of a good used dart for sale let me know. Dont like the look of the k4s attached to the sides.
