Does anyone have info on the 400w DE's? I am hoping to find out how much spread I could get out of 400w DE reflector. My hope is 3' square... If I can run the 400w DE reflector higher over my water to get 3' square spread and still have same PAR at bottom of my reef as I have with my 400w SE now?

Anyone know???

REF, I saw your post on RC, Im thinking not. I have no data to back it up tho. your still taking the light source and making it pass through air/water to get the same PAR at a greater depth.

But I dunno, sorry when you find the answer, post it so we can all know!

Good Luck.

I have been emailing with Coralvue and they said their CV 10K is REALLY bright, so I hope that means more PAR which should allow me greater heigth with my reflectors and better spread. I dunno? I can't wait till Sanjay can test these. :D

I heard that it will be about 20% more par(from 400wSE... that is a guess, but sounds about reasonable to me.

Jean Paul,
I should have a bulb, electronic ballast, and reflector in about a week. You should be able to raise the bulb from 9" to 12" and attain the 3'x3' spread. When I get it I will do some tests on the floor and see what height it needs to be to get there.

Regards,
Kevin

Sounds great, let me know when you get it in so I can come check it out. Are you getting the Coralvue?
