I have a 450g (8'X3' configuration) that will be the main tank in my new "mini fishroom" along with a 90g and a rack of 20g long coral display tanks. Anyway the last piece of the puzzle is a stand which I don't have the knowledge to build on this scale. If you think you can help let me know.

Well I know there are a couple people on here that have built stands for some big tanks. Hopefully they will be able to give you some pointers on building one.
Is the stand for the 450 only, or the 450 and the other tanks?

I think it will make a big difference too whether the tank is acrylic or glass.

The tank is acrylic. Sadly because of where the tank has to go I have to build the stand in place. Because of the tight corners making a steel sub frame near impossible. It will just hold the 450g the 90g will have its own stand and the 6 20g longs will be on a rack system.

Naso,

One can always have steel sub assemblies made and bolt togeather on site. Have done that many times. More work, but steel is the way to go on medium sized tanks. Good luck!

Is 450g a medium sized tank?...lol. Im going to have to recategorize my 215 into the nano tank section. "Another nano build", hahaha. Just kidding.
Seriously though. Ive batted the idea around bout a bolt together steel stand, what size bolts would you recommend for a 215g as well as a 450g? 3/4" grade 6?

The stand can be built with either material, wood or steel.
Shoot me a PM we can discuss the details.

I built a stand for a 300 gal (8'x2') in wood for an acrylic tank. What do you need to know?
