Reef Frontiers,

We have a first, hasn't happened in quite a while. One of our very good client's had a great idea, and with a little talking into, we have a new overflow box. I will give total credit to Barry. So, that is what it will be called from now on. I present to you, the Barry OFB!

Instead of an internal 3 sided box, or an external 3 sided box, we now have a Barry OFB, half in, and half out box. Something to think about next time you want to design a new tank. Happy New Year! Jason

Looks cool! Do you have a full shot of it connected to the tank to get a better understanding how it fits into the scheme of things? Nice craftsmanship as always! Wishing you guys all the best for the New Year and thanks for your continued sponsorship here! :)

Yes Krish - We will post pictures after we get it up and running next friday. We are upgrading from our 250 to this monster. Its going to be 33" wide 92" long and 28"tall - a little over 300 g.

And Jason is amazing. We couldn't resist asking him to build it for us. He built two 100 g sump and refugium tanks for us in November and they are works of art.

Jason! Barry will be delighted with the credit - as you know he is my idea man but I'm the one that does all the work!

Nice! Looking forward to seeing it. :)

Have you considered making the part with the teeth 1/8" or so below the edge of the tank? A lot of thing would have to go wrong with the teeth but the safely margin of spilling over the side would reduce my pucker factor.

Kracken,

Are you asking, why I don't leave a gap between the top of the teeth to the inside top of the tank? We cut Jill's teeth 1.5" deep to allow for 2000 GPH of water from the sump. We also have 2 portholes on this tank 25x30.5, so very large openings, and we want all the strength we can get, and bonding the teeth to the top panel does that. We also installed a back up drain that is stubbed half way up the teeth, so there is no way to pump too much water into and overfill this tank. Like all the full systems we do, every detail is thought of. Thanks, Jason
