Bryan - I know the thread is really really long, but the Red Bugs - Inevitable? thread has some good info in it regarding the life cycle. The tank would need to be acro free for about 5 days. If I remember correctly, Eric Borneman posted the bugs showed in activity after 3 days, so by 5 you're probably good. A quarantine tank would be a great way to treat, however, it would be very important to take the rocks out that have encrusted acros on them for treatment, too. The bugs can remain on the part of the coral encrusted on the rock. So, once you treated the rest of the corals (and the rock remained with encrusted growth), and introduced the treated corals back to the tank, the infestation would start again.
Hope this makes sense!
