A lot more Crocea then Maxima

I've been looking around at clams hoping to get one in the near future, and i noticed i see a lot more Croceas then Maxima's for a while it seemed the other way, any one know if this has any truth and/or why?

I figured that must be part of it but things affect that too, i was thinking it might be like crocea is easier to breed or something, or maybe easier to find ones with vibrant colors?

lol, salmon, i love eating clams, clam linguini is really good, i remember back in the day when my fam used to go clam digging at camano island, that was fun as was building sand castles
