Hello;
I have tanks in the garage --- all my 10-gallon tanks have 2-100 watt heaters. The garage is insulated and I leave the door open to the garage at all times. Still, on a cold night the water temps get down to the low 70's.
I would not take the tank above 80-F --- 78 -- is a good safe temp for most species. I dive and at 20-to-40 feet where most of these corals are in the wild --- it is not 80-degrees.
6-watts per gallon with good 50/50 or similar bulbs should grow anything in that shallow tank.
Enjoy!
