:( Today i went to go check on my tank during my lunch break and i noticed that my stingray was in a sction of the rocks that he normally does not go. Right away i knew he was dead. But just to be safe i use sometongs and grabbed his tail to see if it was still alive. sure enough there was no movement at all. He was a goner. I pulled him out of the tank and he examined him to see what could have caused his death. He wasn't skinny and was eating ghost shrimp. I did look at his stinger and it was amazing how sharp it was. I bagged him up and said goodbye to the little guy. I guess it was just not meant to be. I know that the blue spots are hard to keep but i thought a month was a good sign. Anyways he will be missed deeply. He was the coolest thing i ever kept.

LATER SCOOTER :(

Sorry for the depressing news

Nick

Bummer on all counts!
I recall all the baby clown triggers I used to lose, trying to replace the one my daughter named "spaceman". 15-20 years back. Was broke yet doing the dad thing. Fish only tank with undergravel filter using crushed marble.
Losing a neat fish sucks. Guess losing any fish sucks!
Regards,
Mike

Yeah, it sucks to lose any fish but my ray was such a crowd pleaser. I t was one of those types of things that not everybody has. Or something you don't see all the time. Now i have to figure out a way to tell me fiance little cousin what happened and thats gonna suck!

Yeah I would hate to think what would happen if my hippo tang died, my two-year-old loves that fish about as much as I do :)

"Dory! Dory! Dory!" is all that comes out of her mouth when watching the tank. She even sleeps with Dory's food. I'm not kidding, she takes the whole packet of sheet algae to bed with her. Kids are so weird.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I don't know anything about stingrays; I wonder what happened.

I guess these types of rays are like moorish Idols they will be doing fine eating and everything and then you blink your eyes and there dead. No signs or anything.

yeah i think before i get another one i am going to research the hell out of it. To find out as much as i can about them and see what they need to survive.

Awe man, sorry for your loss, that is a sad day for sure, we hope you recover with something new.

i'm really sorry to hear what happened dood :( like i said in your other thread, that sucks big time.
do you think that may be someone tried hurting him..... i don't know to much about rays but you had a beautiful one.
may be because you named the ray :p .

i had one years ago and the same thing happend.i read later that the impurities in tap water will kill them. he would eat krill right out of my hand. i miss that fish
