I just knocked my refractometer into the tank and watched it sink to the bottom. It didn't bubble on the way down, so I am hoping it didn't fill with salt water. I just checked it and it seems to still work fine (I rinsed it off in the sink.) My question is: has anyone else done this and had their refract stay accurate and continue to work or is it toast? (Oh well I wanted to get a better one anyway :( )

Well, I dropped mine in a 5 gallon bucket with 3-4 gallons of skimmate. It still works great, but still has a bit of an odor to it. As long as no liquids entered into the tube it should be ok, just recalibrate.

Sort of what I was thinking. It didn't bubble on the way down so I am pretty sure no water entered the tube. I ran over and checked it this morning against Mario's and it seems to be fine. ( other than it is the cheapest chinese model available  )
