ok so i bought this controller and have been able to setup my lights, skimmer, return pump and heater. so i have all the 4 switches shut to off which means it should be outputs a1-8 for some reason i cant get a6,7,8 to function even with them programed! any help would be appreciated....

try switching the 6 and 8 then go to manual control and turn them from auto to on. plug in a lamp to test the circuit. i know i had those backwards at first. make sure they are programed for the correct outlet as well like A08 is in deed the number 8 outlet.

thanks guys but i have done the light and read the manual and still cant figure it out?

If you can't get em to turn on, maybe the outlets are busted? They can only turn on and off so many times before they break. On my neptune, there is a relay in #7 and #8, these can switch on and off with way lower current pull, but they are not as tough as 1-6, and I've seen many outlet strips for sale online where these don't work anymore.
