Hi,

My power went out for 3 hours this morning, and my sequence hammerhead is seized. I have been working on it for an hour now, but need to find some other options in case it's not working later.

Does anyone have a spare hammerhead, or similarly rated pump???

if it came down to the wire you could always buy a sump pump and put it on a timer so that every 5 minutes it would turn on for a minute. Just to at least circulate the water in your tank.

I hope everything goes well for you.

Sump pump?

Not sure what you mean...

It seems the pump is getting seized against the front cover... So hopefully it's fixable, but we'll see..

have you called Sequence? they are usually really helpful over the phone and can overnight you a part if needed.

I have an old rio 2500 that doesn't work. I hope this gets fixed. Someone local should have a spare around. a sequence or ampmaster. I am sure sequence will help you through this.

If it has a exposed shaft like the ampmaster. Unplug it and rotate the shaft backwards with a pair of pliers. Plug it back in and see what happens. May just be ca build-up that came loose in the power outage.

I took the pump apart completely. It's only been on the system a month or so, so absolutely no build up. I don't know how successful I'll be finding a pump quickly, as i need one that can take the 15' head and still supply a few thousand GPH.

It's rubbing on the outside of the casing, waiting for them to call me back currently

Be careful with the wet seal if you do anything with the impeller which doesn't sound like you are. I destroyed the wet seal on my Sequence after I took off the Impeller to clean it. How I destroyed it I don't know but it came apart and was a pain to put back together and then it leaked really bad. I spent 6 hours trying different ways to get it back together without leaking and finally it worked. It worked for about 3 days then it started leaking again so I had to buy a new wet seal.

Is the casing bent? it's weird that it did this while the power was out.

Also, one thing about Sequence is if you keep calling sometimes someone will answer the call the next time you call.

K.. now waiting on a call back from another technician.

I have not yet messed witht the impeller, but I need a new pump...

Now it looks like the impeller may be misaligned.

OK... if anyone has one for sale... I NEED IT.. Just let me know where to go... I don't think I can go overnight without a pump.

This is why I keep spare heaters and pumps on hand..........they ALWAYS fail at 3:00 am in the morning too......bad reef karma, I dunno why....

Hey Josh,

I know it's way out of the way, But Shark Reef had a large pump setting on a shelf over there. Not sure what it was, but it was a big pump. I know it's not to local though. But if that's all you got....what do ya do..

Hey,

I've tried calling everywhere, between shark reef, some places in portland, and spokane... I'm willing to travel for it, but it seems no one has anything.
