i recently got an green slimer acro and put it into the new tank thats been cycled and has a tunze 9010 on it...i super glued it with gel glue to a rock had to use quite a bit on the bottom of it...is it possible that this might have killed the bottom part of it...it RTNed about 1/4" all around the bottom new to SPS so not sure if this is normal for it to do right after glueing it down...also not sure if this would have done it either my g/f left the heat on and went to work and when i came home the tank was at 85 got it down to 80 now and its steady there....

maybe a combo of things?

mainly wondering if its normal for it to do that on a little bit of the bottom area where you glued it...didnt get any glue on the area though..

Hey Dan I'm very sorry to hear this as I'm the one you bought the coral from... That seems very odd to me that the glue would cause this because I've never seen this happen. I would think it has something to do with the temp spike. I think it should recover just keep a good eye on it and if it continues to rtn frag a healthy piece. How is the flow in the tank? I had acro rtn on me and realized it wasn't getting enough flow. Just a thought. Also next time you come over I'll give you another frag to try out.:)

Good luck and keep us updated...

yeah my guess was the temp spike...5 degrees is alot in a matter of a couple hours....and then taking it back down it hasnt receeded anymore that it was earlier so ill check on it tomorrow and test everything but hopefully it was just the temp spike and itll get better...i have a eheim 1260 on my closed loop thats under the rocks and a quite-one with 600gph for return also i added (2) koralia #1s last weekend after i picked up that frag from you. which is about 62x turnover...so real good.

yeah it hasnt gotten any worse....and come to find out the heat issue didnt have anything to do with the tank itself...i was thinking the skimmer might have added a bit of heat to it..but it ranges from 78-80 now so think all it was was the heat in the house...also could be salinity i ordered a refractometer last night but my hydrometer is way off all the time so not even sure to as what the salinity is...=( going to go get it tested tomorrow and adjust acordingly.
