Acro tips turning white

I borrowed one fron a friend locally. It is an acrylic box with a sliding trap door that you hold open with fishing line. Similar to this one:

I use a #16 hook with the barb removed and some presoaked freeze dried plankton on it. I have a half filled bucket of tank water on hand to put other fish in that may be caught by accident. Average capture time is less than 10 min. The caught fish are eating like normal within a few hours.
