Bought my first acrylic tank. Used. I was wondering what works good for cleaning out tried algae and coraline? I dont wanna scatch it. Ive never had an acrylic tank before so I dont know how hard you can scrape before its scratched. Also, what works well for removing scratches inside and outside the tank, before its filled with water?
Thanks kindly
Brett

Brett, to clean out algae and calcium deposits, try muriatic acid, diluted into water about 10 parts water to 1 part acid. It won't take much, then use a disposable soft cloth (and rubber gloves) to wipe away all the buildup. Muriatic acid is found at any swimming pool place, or Home Depot (in the outdoor area) for $7/2gallons.

white vinegar

wipe it on let it sit the repeat rinsh well it will break down and with a little elbow grease and a soft cloth should clean up well.
