Besides Tenecor, where else is there to buy nice acrylic tanks? I kind of got my wife to sort of agree on letting me change out the glass tank for acrylic. I'm going to let her re-tile the condo so it's a, you scratch on my back and I'll scratch on yours situation(LOL). Whatever dude...Atleast I'll get my tank despite it's going to cost me double now that I have to tile. I figured the new acrylic tank would look better on new tile anyway and I can finally put some paint on the wall behind my stand. :D Thanks in advance for any info...and before anyone says it, having it built here, isn't an option. I want to be able to look at the water in the tank not look at the water on my floor!

lol the kind of and sort of doesn't sound like she really agreed lol !!!
i wish i could help you dood but i really have no clue on this one :(

Thats the way I work. I just got my wife to say "hey that be an Idea" to let you ship me your old tank so I can upgrade :) Thats a "yes honey you can do that if you want" to me

You will probably have to fly to the us, buy the new tank and paddle it back home.

No man...We have a local company here in the Bahamas that has an office set up in Ft. Lauderdale that we ship orders through maybe 5-6 times per week, that fly's 3 times a day that could bring it. They will secure it good for me or my buddy who owns the LFS here told me on many occasions that when I was ready, I could just send it to his people at Central Pet in Florida and have it shipped with one of their orders by boat.

Well, then how about this...Anyone ever bought from Tenecor? If so, are their tanks any good? I'm not looking for anything with an overflow or drilled. I'll have that done when I get it here and I decide how I will want it set up. I just want the raw acrylic tank with the black background. Once I find what I want, I'll just order it and store it until I figure out what I'm going to do with it.

We happen to have a sponsor that makes acrylic tanks; they're called IAP (Innovative Aquarium Products). They're here in Washington of course, but you could talk to them anyway and see if they'll ship. Their work is awesome; in fact Mojo's tank is pictured on their site. Here's a link to their sponsor page... http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=42 Here's a link to their website... http://www.innovativeaquarium.com/

Tenecor is a good product too by the way. So is SeaClear, but the acrylic is too thin and it bows too much in my opinion.

hmm nope i have never heard dood !! the only places i have bought a tank was from Blue Sierra,Petco and i think that's pretty much it :D

dood who wouldn't :D you know that's one kewl tank exept that he doesn't have Krish's background, i really like his clams even though i have only seen them in a picture :(

I helped with install on a 96" tennecor tank. It has a horrible bow in the panels. I mean a acrylic algae magnet just barely touchs the glass in a strip about 1/2" wide and top and bottom. He may of went chinch in the acrylic though. Tried to do everything on the cheap and would not listen. Last I heard from him he was tearing it down and called me wanted to sell the lighting and other stuff. Wouldnt wait for it to cycle and tried to fill it with corals and mail order unquar fish after 2 weeks. The results were what you would expect. Thats my only experince with Tennecor.

The problem with acrylic is there are really two sizes; thin and thick. The thin size is strong enough to hold together when full, but bows so much that it actually warps your view. The thicker size hardly bows at all, but costs more. If you're having a tank built and you want to do it right don't skimp on the thickness of the acrylic sheeting.

Thanks guys for the replies. I'll have to check them out. Clayton, you don't have to worry about me skimping. I am a person who usually always goes for over kill. Hopefully I should be able to shoot the tank with a shotgun and not have it leak(LOL)

With where you are located, you may wish to check into Precision Clarity. They are at least located on the East Coast of the U.S., which would help in shipping cost.

They make very nice tanks, and can also do custom orders. I didn't see a toll-free phone number, but there is a phone number on their website.

He also sells via E-bay... under the user name of "aquarium-maker". That is where my friend picked up his 240gallon Reef Ready from him. Shipped to his house, for only $820, it was a killer deal!

Thanks Ed...I'll check it out. Wherever I get the tank from will only have to be shipped to Florida and I'll handle it from there. I'll see how it goes. Thanks again for all of the replies.

I have a 180 g from IAP......I'm sure it will hold water fine...it's been holding 26.4 cubic feet of air for months.......
