Activated Carbon

Just wondered if anyone uses it in their tanks. I have always used it from when I had freshwater tank and now with my saltwater tank.

Hi, some reefers don't, i use it 24/7 i have some softies, lps's and some stonies lots of chemical warfare going on, i've been using carbon since day one thats eight years ago, good luck.

I use it for a few weeks at a time, every once in a while. No set schedule. I use matrix spherical, in a filter bag. soaked over night in ro/di. No dicernable problems from its use in my tanks. Steve

Yeah, I haven't had any problems with it. The key is to change it regularily...I change it religiously every 4 weeks. Like I've said before, I'm a perfectionist and not to mention OCD big time, so things like partial H2O changes twice a week and maintaining my filters are a walk in the park.

I use it for about a week each month, in a media bag between the baffles in my sump.
