AI sol blue question, lubricant/ grease in data port holes

I just received my AI sol blue fixture in the mail and am putting it together and noticed that in data ports there is some kind of lubricant or grease. Is this normal or in the process of manufacturing the unit this ended up in them? I would like to know if it is safe to plug the cable in, anybody else have this on their units?

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer, or the supplier you purchased it from, and asking them. That way, you're getting an OFFICIAL answer and if something goes wrong, it's on them.

I just emailed them to see what they say about it. Figured I would try all angles and see what I get for an answer.
