I was at my local fish store today and saw a sad sight. :( the power had been out for 36 hrs and they had no backup power:shock: The staff had been working shifts to stirring tanks. The power had only been on for 2 hrs when I arrived and their water was 65  I was supprised they did not loose everything. I saw a lot of death:( a whole shipment of clown fish did not make it. and several tanks had dead livestock. I am shocked the store did not have backup power and did nothing to bring in backup pwr:mad: . I personaly would have lent a construction grade generator to help save livestock. I feel sick knowing a whole tank of clown fish" and many others " died due to lack of pwr. I had my eye on a very cute clown in that tank and was going to pick it up today:( The money spent on staff stirring tanks could have been spent on a rented generator. Just me venting. I realy wanted that clown:(

That's really sad :doubt: Just imagine living in the Bahamas during the summer when they load shed and turn off your power! You guys have the opposite with trying to keep your tanks warm, we have to try and keep them cool. I agree though...Any LFS should have backup power regardless of how often or not the power goes out.

That's very sad. This recent storm has left many in a dire situation.

I know the power isn't expected to come back at my home for a few more days. Luckily I have someone there keeping gasoline in my generator.

that is too bad!
I was in the same shoes with my 3 tanks over the last 2 days my power was off for 40+ hrs and I spent many hrs taking care of my tanks, I wasnt able to get a generator till the last 10 hrs but if I wasnt able to get it My tanks would have crashed too..

I am sure that there are a lot of use around these parts that are in the same shoes!

My tank hit 68 and I thought I was going to lose everything but the power came back on after only 17 hours and some how everything is ok some how. I wish you all luck and hope every thing pulls through this.
