Pure Poison :)
 Guess what my blue carpet anemone had for a midnight snack?
I've had my blue carpet for almost 2 years. We have been through a lot together and we've been very fond of each other. The anemone had never bothered anyone in the tank, except for a sickly yellow-headed goby which wandered into its sticky tentacles once... Well, last night I brought home another carpet (different color) and spent a bit of time acclimating it to my quarantine tank. As I walked by the main reef, I did notice the blue tuxedo urchin munching on algae close to the blue carpet. Didn't think much of it at the time... This morning I woke up to find the urchin DEEP inside the anemone's mouth. I seriously think the bugger got jealous and decided to pay me back by eating another one of my favorite pets:lol:
My husband has a different theory: he thinks I broke my anemone's heart and the creature tried to do itself in . But I know better, that monster is too tough to have a broken heart!
I took lots and lots of pictures, starting with the urchin just "crowning" and ending with it being spit back out. Then the anemone spit out the rest of the spines that were still remaining in its mouth, but that wasn't picture worthy IMO. Anyway, ENJOY!
