lol not really I think thats why my tank got the way it did. I was thinking that another matching power head like the one I have now should be good enough for a 30 gal
 
I would get one of those Koralia powerheads. For a 39, I would grab a #2 or a #3. I used to have some cyano issues and although I can't give all the credit to those powerheads, they certainly helped. Check your phosphates as well... I had to replace my DSB, because it was essentially saturated. The combination of the two (more flow and eliminating phosphates) has wiped out the cyano.
 
this mightsound bad but i doin't know what a DSB is lol I know that might bad but I don't know the long for lol the otherthing about the filter iwas thinking that I might just get one of the spunge/charcole hang ons and clean it like one or twice a week?
 
yeah lol i figured itout just after I posted that lol do jed after you dsb went bad what did you do? I think that might be my problem right now concidering I have had my tank running for the better part of 3 years and I don't know how long they tank to go bad can ya let me know?
