Looking for an ID for this guy. There are maybe 50 of them on 3 rocks (started on one) and
they are about 1/2" to 1" also apparently still growing (1/4" to 1/2" base) The balls on the
ends of the tentacles vary in color. One will have orange 'pom-poms', another has white,
another red...Some have slight iridescence tword base of tentacles. Might be lighting
angle on that, tho. They don't retract back into the rock when irritated, but do retract.

Any ideas? Thanks.:)

I believe that is a type of cup coral, don't remember the name tho. I had them on my rocks a few years back.

Its a corallimorph

another type of mushroom. They lack zooxanthellae so may die out if the tank is not well fed.
Mine come and go.

oh and it was not an educated guess, info is out of the book called Marine Inverts by Shimek

I've had these all over my nano for years. They don't appear to harm anything, and nothing appears to eat them.

Probably no harm in keeping it.

(I'm still not sold on it being cup coral if they're the same as mine, on account of the tentacles not being tapered)
