Hello all i need some help on this one. My White Sebae Anemone has moved toward the back of the tank.I know they move where they want but he has is tenticals up against the rocks like he is hiding from something.. Should i move him back to the front where he has been for a month now???

i'm no anemone expert, but i think if it moved there on its' own, i would let it be...

Never move an anemone unless in danger of immediate death (power heads etc). The anemone has moved to it's current location for a reason. One very appearant one being that the anemone is white will be light intensity. It is either too low and the anemone cannot regain it's zooxanthellae to any real degree or high and the anemone has not acclimated to it yet. Most likely you purchased it this way?

A healthy H. crispa should be a dull grey/brownish color.

Please post a run down of your tank set up/equipment
Water quality numbers and chemistry numbers
Do you feed the anemone? If so what, how much and how often?
What tank mates? Invertebrates and fish?

Well its a 55 gal with a cpr bak pack skimmer a hob emporer 400 my lights are orbit t5's. I have 2 fire clown fish, 2 fuzzy dwarf lion fish, one clam. I have the normal clean up crew Hermit crabs, Nassarius snai, Turbo Snail, and a few Brittle Starfish from the live rock..My ammonia is at 0 ppm high range ph 8.2 my nitrite 0 ppm my nitrate is 0 ppm. I just did a water change yesterday of 10 gal. I run carbon and i change every week. Feeding the guy i give him some mysis once a week.

what is the wattage of the t-5's? I tend to agree with steve-s. Do not move it back. It went there for a reason. More Light? More Flow? Less Flow? These are things that will cause it to move. Also sounds like it is bleached.. I wouold try to feed it some krill or silversides and see if this will help..

Well he moved back to the corner of the tank and he is all spread out now... I think i know what it was i got some new powerheads and maybe the flow was the thing...

Care seems fine but you should explain the lights a bit better. This species will appreciate a fairly high intense lighting system. They will prefer the substrate level but will climb higher if necessary. New power heads would definitely explain the move but don't sacrifice one for the other. Try to find a balance between the two.

Make sure you are adding vitamins and HUFA to the mysis when you feed and do not directly feed too often. Feeding the clowns will offer something unto itself.

i have 4x39watt t5

i could not keep the seabea...

silverside.

yours looks good.. its not bleached.

i would not move it..

give it a good peace of silverside weekly.

let it move.

very hard to care for.

4 x54w T5 (?) on a 55 gal tanks not that good even if it's shallow (20") and not tall. Be sure the light is as close to the water line as possible. Even an inch or two will dramatically drop light penetration. While it is not completely bleached, it's color is definitely paler than it should be.

Your lighting is better suited for E. quadricolor

hmmm well the lfs told me wrong then. He has helped me out with everything in my tank and everything has worked out so far. He said the lights would be ok.. Should i trade the guy back in???
